QCU: There's strength in numbers

The Queensland Council of Unions QCU is the peak union body in Queensland with 29 affiliated unions including the QNMU.

The QCU is the state branch of the Australian Council of Trade Unions and covers about 370,000 Queensland workers.

The fundamental roles of the QCU are to help unions improve the working conditions of Queensland workers; be the public voice of the Queensland union movement; influence government and public policy at an industrial, political and social level, and help unions build membership and power through campaigns, training and education.

The QCU celebrated its 130th birthday in 2015.
