Safety in the Workplace - CPD event & MODs
What does a safe and healthy workplace look like? And how should nurses and midwives be reporting fatigue and issues with workloads, PPE, and staff skill mix?

This CPD event for QNMU members will discuss the importance of a safe and healthy workplace, and the role nurses and midwives can play to address issues that affect patient/resident care as well as our own safety.

It will also explain the role and powers of the Health and Safety Representative (HSR) and Work Health and Safety Committees, connection to QNMU Local Branches, and what practical and simple things nurses and midwives can do at work to achieve a safe and healthy workplace.

So join us for this CPD event and learn about some practical strategies and tools you can use to stay safe in your workplace.

We also want to hear from you about what you need to keep safe working in the health system to inform our future work.

This two-hour session will also be an opportunity to hear from QNMU Secretary Beth Mohle and/or QNMU Assistant Secretary Kate Veach about the current priorities of your union, to ask questions and provide your feedback as part of our bi-annual Meeting of Delegates (also open to all members).

If you are unable to attend the in-person session in your local area, you can join us online at our Zoom event on 18 October.
