Midwifery Group Practice online Symposium

Midwifery Group Practice online Symposium

Midwifery Group Practice – making it work for women, families and midwives

There is significant evidence showing the various ways in which Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) as a relationship-based continuity model of care results in improved outcomes for women and families, professional satisfaction, and more. However, it is seemingly being practised in various ways across Queensland.

This is to be expected given the diversity in Queensland locations and populations. Yet some cracks are becoming increasingly evident in how continuity of care is provided. This symposium intends to provide a safe space in which midwives in MGPs and managers can discuss the ways MGP works well,  and identify and work towards resolving issues.

Expectations regarding continuity of midwifery models under the Award (annualised salary and local agreement) will be discussed and clarified.

Guest speakers include Jocelyn Toohill (Midwifery Director, OCNMO), Anne Bousfield (CMC, Central Qld HHS), and Dr Belinda Maier (Strategic Midwifery Policy and Research Officer).

We welcome all midwives to join us in these important discussions.

During registration you will be asked to answer the following questions. We will then collate all the answers and address them during the event:
1. What is your key challenge to providing continuity of care?
2. What is the greatest benefit of working in MGP?
Remember to 'save responses' to the questions before finalising your registration for this webinar.

Prior registration is compulsory to attend.
