In this webinar, Alanna Geary (Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, Metro North HHS) will talk about how she promotes and supports workload concerns both at the base grade level and for more senior nursing and midwifery staff. The session will also cover the importance of all nurses and midwives submitting workload reporting forms to ensure their workload issues are documented and escalated.
About Alanna Geary
Alanna is the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, Metro North Hospital and Health Service, Australia’s largest hospital and health service.
Alanna has professional oversight for approximately 9000 nurses and midwives across the health service. She has worked in health care as a nurse and midwife for nearly 40 years with the greatest proportion of that in senior nursing and midwifery roles.
Alanna has extensive healthcare leadership and management experience and is passionate about the role of nurses and midwives in the delivery of health care and the development of the profession to provide contemporary models that support excellence and research development. Additionally, she is committed to ensuring that nurses and midwives are at the forefront of all clinical and health care matters and decision making. She is keen to ensure that nurses and midwives lead and are actively involved in research and opportunities that are nurse-centric.
