Creating a Safe Workplace (Various dates in May & June)
This 3 hour Zoom course will assist members to understand the role of the Health and Safety Representative and to demystify the process of risk management and the hierarchy of control, in managing hazards. 

By the end of this course participants will be able to: 

• Identify the role of the Health and Safety Representative according to the Queensland Work Health and Safety Act 2011 
• Be aware of the concept of Reasonably Practicable 
• Be aware of Provisional Improvement Notices (PINS) 
• Understand the right to cease unsafe work 
• Specify the obligations of the employer to Health and Safety Representatives 
• Locate resources available to them 
• Understand the risk assessment process 
• Discuss current workplace health and safety issues facing nurses and midwives.
