Since Christmas, the QNMU has heard from countless members telling us what their EB11 back pay meant to them. For some members, their back pay amounted to thousands of dollars, and was used to pay off credit cards and Christmas expenses.
The QNMU is aware there has been some confusion regarding rates of pay in the private sector for the recent Christmas Eve public holiday (which applies from 6pm – midnight).
QNMU members have lobbied for some time for fee-free courses for nurses and midwives to address critical workforce shortages. We are pleased to report that the Queensland Government has listened.
