Your QNMU membership fees secured pre-Christmas back pay

Thanks to EB11 being certified in early December, Queensland Health nurses and midwives not only received their 4% increase to wages and current allowance, but also received back pay to 1 April 2022.

Since Christmas, the QNMU has heard from countless members telling us what this back pay meant to them. For some members, their back pay amounted to thousands of dollars, and was used to pay off credit cards and Christmas expenses.

The QNMU worked hard to ensure you received this back pay prior to Christmas. But let’s not forget: without QNMU members, there would be no EB11 agreement in the first place

Members are the union, and your membership fees directly fund the work that makes these things happen.

Of course, all Queensland Health nurses and midwives benefit from EB11 improvements, but it’s your membership fees that make it happen.

So if you know a colleague who isn’t yet a QNMU member, we encourage you to chat to them about joining today.

Remember, the QNMU was the only union and representative for nurses and midwives at the bargaining table. It really is QNMU members who make the difference – so why not be part of it?
