The Nurses Award 2010 is the national Award that covers the work of nurses and midwives, including Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses/Midwives, Enrolled Nurses and Assistants in Nursing who work for a non-government employer. The Award is one of two components of the federal government’s industrial relations safety net. The other component is the National Employment Standards (NES), a set of legislated minimum standards, which, together with the Award, set the minimum wages and conditions standard. This information sheet outlines what is the award, who does the award apply to, what's in the award and how can the award be changed.
