Are you a newly elected Branch Delegate or Alternate Delegate?

If you have recently been elected as a Branch Delegate or Alternate Delegate for your Local Branch, come along to learn how to run an effective and engaged Local Branch.

This course has been specifically designed to explain the role of Delegates and Alternate Delegates and how these roles work to build power in workplaces.

During this session we will:

  • understand the purpose of a Local Branch
  • look at the role of Local Branch members
  • explore relationships of Local Branch members and various stakeholders (e.g., QNMU, Organisers, membership, employers and governments)
  • understand the need to be “political”
  • practice writing, amending, and debating motions in preparation for QNMU Annual Conference
  • look at what issues you can take to QNMU Annual Conference
  • develop a plan for your Branch

The event is for newly elected QNMU Delegates and Alternate Delegates only and will provide 6 CPD hours. Registration is compulsory to attend. For more information or enquiries please contact the QNMU Education Team on [email protected]
