Medical records and the law

3 CPD hours

This module describes what medical records are and outlines the practical, ethical, and legal reasons for maintaining proper patient records. It aims to assist nurses, midwives, or anyone providing nursing care in improving their record keeping, benefiting patient care, and helping to prevent criminal, civil and/or disciplinary actions against them.


Childhood asthma: an overview

2 CPD hours

This module discusses the burden of asthma in children. It goes on to provide an overview of the guidelines for diagnosis and challenges associated with accurate diagnosis in children. A brief overview of the physiology of the lung, airflow limitation, and lung function testing is also provided.


Physical healthcare in mental illness

3 CPD hours

In this module we introduce the different dimensions of health and discuss how mental and physical health interact. We then discuss the components of integrated care for assessing, protecting, and improving the physical health of persons suffering from mental illness. Finally, we look at practical techniques for nurses aiming to support patients in making healthier lifestyles choices. 


Nursing and midwifery leadership in emissions reduction

1.5 CPD hours

This module provides an overview of climate change, climate health impacts, greenhouse gas emissions and the sector’s emissions footprint. It outlines why nurses and midwives are positioned for leadership in relation to emissions reduction and their leadership role in health care practices and collaboration and research activities.

This will ensure you can see an accurate record of your CPD activity when you are required to renew your registration.
