This webinar course is open to Queensland Health members only.
The Business Planning Framework (BPF) is a key tool for managing nursing and midwifery workloads.
The BPF guides safe staffing levels, yearly planning, evaluation, and negotiation to ensure the delivery of high-quality frontline services.
All nurses and midwives employed by Queensland Health work to the BPF every day.
Come and learn how you can contribute.
During this session, you will:
• learn the process of developing a service profile
• work through the seven steps to calculate nursing/midwifery hours per patient day
• explore workload supply and demand, and how it links to staffing and resourcing
• understand BPF notional ratios and legislated prescribed ratios
• gain practical strategies for resource allocation and yearly planning
• learn how to ensure the BPF is signed off and operational within your unit.
This course provides practical knowledge and strategies to help nurses and midwives engage with the BPF and use it effectively to support safe, quality care.
This course is open to QNMU members working for Queensland Health and provides 4 CPD hours.
