From bullying and occupational violence to fatigue and high job demands, psychosocial hazards are anything in the workplace that may cause psychological or physical harm.
Managing these risks is just as critical as managing physical safety hazards.
Queensland’s new Code of Practice applies to most nurses, midwives, and AINs, and provides a practical framework for identifying, managing, and minimising harm from psychosocial hazards.
This course unpacks the Code and gives you the knowledge and confidence to take action in your workplace.
By the end of this course, participants will:
- have a clear understanding of psychosocial hazards and their impact on workers
- be able to identify common psychosocial risks in the workplace
- understand the obligations of employers and workers in managing psychosocial safety
- recognise the role of consultation in workplace health and safety
- apply risk assessment processes to psychosocial hazards
- be confident in raising reports, complaints, or incidents
- know where to locate information and resources about the Code of Practice.
This event is open to all QNMU members and provides 2 CPD hours.
