Your QNMU CPD Portal can help you meet your NMBA requirements
Published: 24 April 2023
As part of your registration, all Registered and Enrolled Nurses and Midwives must have completed a minimum of 20 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in the past year.
If you are registered as both a nurse and midwife, you must have completed 20 hours of CPD for each registration. If you’re audited by Ahpra, you’ll need to be able to prove you have met these CPD requirements, so it’s important to stay on top of it when you can.
Reading articles is a great way to increase your CPD hours. We recommend checking out this article in which the NMBA answers all your questions around professional standards and guidelines for nurses and midwives.
We also encourage you to read the NMBA’s fact sheets on code of conduct for nurses and midwives.
However you complete your CPD hours is up to you, but the QNMU can track the whole process and make it a lot easier via your online record of CPD.
Remember, as a QNMU member, you have access to great information and advice. Check out your online CPD portal where you’ll find a wealth of resources that can all count towards your CPD hours.
We are also offering some short online events, which are a great way to quickly build your CPD hours. Visit www.qnmu.org.au/events to see what’s coming up near you.
