This webinar will answer all your questions about the role of a Health and Safety Representative. 

In this course, we'll cover the process of risk management and the hierarchy of control in managing hazards. 

You'll leave with a range of knowledge about current health and safety issues facing nurses and midwives that can be readily applied to your workplace. You will also find out about the Health and Safety Representative role and why it’s so important for you and your colleagues.

By the end of this course participants will: 

  • Have a sound understanding of the role of a Health and Safety Representative according to the Queensland Work Health and Safety Act 2011
  • Understand the concept of "reasonably practicable"
  • Understand Provisional Improvement Notices (PINS)
  • Understand the right to cease unsafe work
  • Be able to specify the obligations of an employer to Health and Safety Representatives
  • Know where to locate relevant work health and safety resources available to them
  • Understand the risk assessment process
  • Understand current workplace health and safety issues facing nurses and midwives.
