Our Benefits

We value our employee’s contribution to our members and the community and offer benefits to enrich your professional and personal lifestyle.

Organising and Professional Services

The Organising and Professional Services teams consist largely of nurses and midwives. Organisers are on the ground working alongside members in their workplace, whether to resolve a collective workload grievance or to simply be that first point of contact for members who need to take that first step to achieve the change they want to see. Professional Officers work each day to advance our nursing and midwifery professional standing, whether that be through representation on committees or by providing expert knowledge for submissions to government.

Member and Specialist Services

The Member and Specialist Services team is made up of four teams that provide our members with one-on-one support on workplace and industrial issues through member representation and enterprise bargaining.

Campaigning and Communications

The Campaigning and Communications teams are dedicated to advancing nurses and midwives' interests through driving local workplace and major public campaigns. The teams aim to give members a voice, and a platform to have those voices heard, whether that be by key decision makers or the broader community. Through strong campaigning alongside members, the QNMU has been able to achieve major advancements for our professions, including public sector ratios, action to fix the aged care sector, and increasing visibility on failing conditions in our private hospitals.

People, Strategy & Research

The People Strategy and Research function support teams engaged in the core work of the QNMU that includes developing and reviewing policy initiatives which support the QNMU’s strategic and operational objectives, supporting QNMU employees throughout their employment lifecycle and responding to the ongoing and increasing delivery of quality services, products and programs to our members.

Business Services

The Business Services function is made up of eight key teams who contribute to the efficient operations of statewide QNMU facilities from IT system maintenance, record and database management to financial activities and whole of QNMU administration support.
