When QNMU members at Regis Whitfield in Cairns realised they weren’t receiving their laundry allowance, they contacted the QNMU for assistance.
 
The QNMU wrote to management and they agreed to pay the correct entitlement, backdated to November 2016 when members were transferred across to the Regis Aged Care Enterprise Agreement.
 
Twenty-eight staff across the Regis facility have now received hundreds of dollars in unpaid laundry allowance, plus pre-judgement interest of 4.5%, as requested by the QNMU. This equates to approximately $8400 for our hard-working nursing members. Congratulations!
