EB11: Offer for in-principle agreement acceptable for ballot
Published: 16 August 2022
After extensive consultation with QNMU members through their local branches, the QNMU has formally notified Queensland Health (QH) that the offer for an in-principle agreement is acceptable to go to a ballot of all QH nurses and midwives.
Once final approval has been granted from the government for the offer to go out to ballot, there will be a period of 14 days in which all nurses and midwives will be able to read and familiarise themselves with the in-principle agreement.
The offer will then be put to a ballot, and all nurses and midwives employed by QH and the Department of Education will be asked to vote either yes or no to the in-principle agreement becoming your EB11 enterprise agreement.
Stay tuned for more information, including dates and timeframes, via email and www.qnmu.org.au/EB11.
Wins secured outside EB11
As previously communicated, the QNMU has also secured significant wins for public sector members outside of the agreement as a direct result of member action and persistent QNMU lobbying of government over a number of years.
These wins include changes to superannuation, which will make a huge difference to the retirement savings of nurses and midwives, and a change to pandemic leave access – specifically, pandemic leave can be accessed prior to using your sick/personal leave if you test positive for COVID-19.
