EB11: Payrise delays are unacceptable

The State Government's delay in paying you your wage rise is unacceptable.

On 9 August, we reached agreement with Queensland Health for the EB11 offer to go out for employee consultation and a vote, but the State Government has still not progressed it.

The EB11 in-principle agreement includes wage increases of 4%, 4% and 3% for the first, second and third years respectively, with amounts to be topped up to the cost of living if inflation is higher than your wage increase at the end of March each year during the agreement (up to an additional 3%).

The failure of the State Government to act swiftly to advance EB11 is an affront to tens of thousands of frontline Queensland Health nurses and midwives who have been steadfast in their support of our community during the incredible hardship of the pandemic, among many other demands.

Your work is invaluable. The pandemic is not over. Frontline staff throughout Queensland and Australia are emotionally and physically exhausted after years of pandemic response, increased demand and understaffing. You have earned your pay rise

We are increasingly concerned that these pressures are compounded by increasing cost-of-living and this is why we are now publicly calling on the state government to urgently make your pay rise a reality.

Send a message to the State Government that this delay is unacceptable.

Share this message on Facebook and tag your local State Member of Parliament to let them know it is time to value our work.

You will also hear from us on this issue in the media this week, so stay tuned for more.
